Election Commission and our achievements

The Election Commission is responsible for conducting presidential and parliamentary elections, compiling and maintaining accurate voter lists for elections, redefining constituencies, conducting other elections as prescribed by law (including all local government councils such as union parishads, municipalities, city corporations, upazilas). Council, including the Hill District Council) and the smooth execution of ancillary functions. Issuance of smart national identity card with photo to all citizens of Bangladesh. The other achievements are discussed below:


The Election Commission has been able to complete the Eleventh Parliamentary Election through close coordination with the Civil Administration, Police Administration, and above all other departments. With the sincere cooperation of the government, the Election Commission has made the whole country free, neutral, beautiful and clean without any conflict, without bloodshed, which is the greatest achievement of all the achievements of the Election Commission.
Another great achievement of the Election Commission is that it was able to conduct almost all the elections in 2016 without any isolated incidents.
It is another great achievement for all the municipalities and city corporations of Bangladesh to be able to complete it in a peaceful environment.
The highest achievement of the Election Commission is to be able to set a precedent by conducting elections at the local and national level as well as in all elections with the smooth coordination of all the executive departments.
It is now a great achievement of the Election Commission to be able to conduct experimental EVMs at the local level, including some national elections, municipal elections and union council elections, using EVMs digitally instead of ballots. It is hoped that the commission will be successful in using EVMs in all subsequent elections which will be a great success for the Election Commission.
It is another great achievement to be able to complete all elections through transparent ballot boxes.
Due to the fact that the manpower of the Election Commission is less than the demand, a large number of officers and employees of all the executive departments of the government have been able to complete the polling by training the law enforcement personnel including the polling officers.
It is another great achievement that has been able to prevent Rohingyas from becoming voters on a large scale and to have a separate database for Rohingyas which has blocked the way for Rohingyas to become voters.
It is a tremendous success to be able to serve the database of 106 million voters in Bangladesh perfectly.
It is another great achievement to complete the database by taking the biometrics of all the voters of Bangladesh by taking the eye iris with 10 fingerprints.
Instead of laminating cards for all the voters in Bangladesh, it has been able to provide high-tech and high-tech smart cards to the citizens, which is a great achievement of the Election Commission.
It is a great achievement to be able to set up regional election buildings at the divisional level, district election office buildings at the district level and upazila election offices at the upazila level as well as at all levels of the Election Commission.
Compilation of voter list with pictures of all voters is a great success of Bangladesh and the Election Commission.
Election Commission For the first time, the appointment or appointment of a local election commissioner has been a great success for the government and the Election Commission. The Election Commission has taken a step forward in the progress of women alone.
In addition to the administration in the national elections, city corporation elections, municipal elections and union council elections in Bangladesh, the Election Commission has been able to act as a returning officer for its own officials.
Achieving historic success as all the registered political parties of Bangladesh were able to take active part in the Eleventh Parliamentary Election of 2016.
The Electoral Training Institute of the Election Commission is going through various innovative trainings to help the polling officers as well as enhance the skills of the officials which is a great achievement of the Election Commission.
The inclusion of Bangladeshi expatriate voters in different countries in the voter list by the Election Commission's own officials in collaboration with the Bangladeshi embassies in different countries is a great achievement.
In order to increase the efficiency, the Election Commission has arranged overseas training of its officials which has been a great success.
It is a success to be able to hand over the smart cards of all the heroic freedom fighters of Bangladesh before December 2019.
Lost National Identity Cards were distributed centrally and it was time consuming and costly for the citizens to get the lost National Identity Cards which are now due to decentralization from the District Election Office. The work of Decentralization is a great success.
Adding tabs to the election system is a big success.
